"Population" WhatsApp been arriving Twitte

KOMPAS.com - Corporate instant messaging WhatsApp developers told the media in The Wall Street Journal that they have had 250 million monthly active users in June 2013. This is a brilliant achievement for a new application that was four years old.

WhatsApp compete with the number of users on Twitter who in March 2013 and announced that it has had 200 million monthly active users. While video-chat service Skype Microsoft has 280 million monthly active users.

WhatsApp is still leading in the competition instant messaging application because its services are available on almost all platforms, from iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Nokia S40 up.

Every day there are 27 billion text messages are sent via WhatsApp. The figure consists of 10 billion messages were sent by users, and 17 billion messages received by the user.

WhatsApp didirkan in 2009 by Jan Koum and Brian Acton. Both are former Yahoo employee.

The company benefited from subscription fees. In iOS, WhatsApp can be purchased for $ 0.99 at the beginning of the U.S. dollar, while Android users subscription charge 0.99 U.S. dollars per year.
